Save or Demolish Preston Bus Station

I’ve posted the following on Facebook groups to stimulate conversation on the idea to make a video on Preston Bus station that is set to be demolished as part of the Tithebarn project here in the city of Preston. It would be good to maybe have two competiting videos, made by the collaborate effort of each of the two groups….. just a thought :)

How about we get a few people from Preston… a few budding film producers to do…. “life and times of Preston Bus station”.. focusing on

  • History
  • Socio-economic impact on St Johns and the Guild Hall
  • How Stagecoach buying Preston Bus will effect the usage of the bus station
  • How the Grosvenor group will benefit, including how much of towns and cities around the country have influence on planning decisions both nationally and locally
  • How the people of Preston will benefit. (or not .. depending on your opinion)

I think there would definitely be some media interest in this and raise the profile of the bus station across the whole of Lancashire. Maybe even get you on NorthWest tonight, chance for any reporters to shine!
Thoughts?
(This is being posted in both the SAVE and DEMOLISH(removed) groups) :)

Did anything ever come of your call for a film project about Preston Bus Station?

I am a student at UCLan university and I have a group assignment due, which is about the bus station and I have been assigned the position of pro’s and con’s about the demolition and move of the bus station.

If anyone at all, would let me have an interview with them, that would be excellent. Even over email would be helpful, it would just be great for some public opinions to put into my article. If there is somebody with a higher involvement with the bus station, such as they work there or have worked there, maybe giving me a contact number for them would be brilliant!

    Thanks, please get in touch.
